Platform Laser Act Rider
Staging Requirements:
Laser Act Rider
Fog/haze is necessary for the performance. It will be used before the show to build up haze and during the performance. Levels of haze must meet Laser Act’s requirements. This may require shutting down AC units for performance time.
- When venue/client is providing hazer it must be professional level, such as a DF50 o better.
-Minimum ceiling height 12 ft from base of platform. Keep in mind this is from base of platform if there is a riser stage
-Near complete darkness required. No overhead light over laser area- and no lights pointing directly at performance area.
No backlighting or LED screens.
-No guests can be behind the platform or able to get within 3 feet of the platform during performance. If not on a stage, stanchions or barrier much be placed around performance area to prevent guests from tripping on cables and from getting tooclose to the lasers.
-Power circuits must be run to performance area prior to Laser Act arrival. Will need 2 separate power circuits per platform. For each platform we will need to plug in: Circuit 1: 1 or 2- lasers, Circuit 2: 1- Radiance hazer or similar and 1 or 2 foggers. All can beplugged into standard Edison 110V US power outlets. Hazers and foggers need separate circuit than lasers because they draw a lot of power when activated. NOTE: If power connection is not run prior to Lady Light team arrival this may result in longer set up timeneeded.
- Laser Act platforms are approx. 3ft long x 3 1/2 ft wide x 3 ft tall each- Need 8ft x 8ft space for per platform with no back laser- Need 8ft wide x 12 ft deep (front to back) space per platform with back laser- Once platform is set up and zoned it must remain in place. If it must be moved in and out of performance space, it must stay on the same level and will require re zoning prior to performance. This can take anywhere from 2 mins to 10 mins. It cannot be lifted, tilted, bumped or go over big bumps. This will compromise alignments of the laser and be unsafe and will require re zoning prior to performance.
-Venue sound system required, including monitor for performance area and speakers for audience Platform Laser Act Rider- Cont’d
-Need ability to connect to venue sound system from laser computer. Laser Act’s line-out is mini jack. This can be at FOH or Side stage or back stage, depending on set up.
OUT OF TOWN EVENTS- Will need to ship road case. It must be accepted at venue one business day prior and held until one business day after event for pick up. We will arrange door to door delivery from my warehouse to venue. We will need venue contact info and if lift gate isneeded.
- Road case is approx 4 ft long x 3.5 wide and 2 ft tall on wheels.
SET- UP- Need 1.5-2 hours to assemble platform, run cables in performance area, zone the lasers, and do sound check. Does not have to be onstage for the whole time. First 45 mins are to assemble platform and gear. Remainder time must be onstage or in actualperformance space to run cable, do sound and light check. Zoning lasers and rehearsal must be done with no guests or extra personnel around. Longer time may be needed for larger arena type settings or difficult configurations. Once set up we are ready to go in moments for performance.
- All set up done by Laser Act and Laser Act assistant/s- If Laser Act does not have full access or adequate time to set up, zone lasers and rehearse, OR deems a performance condition unsafe for Performer or the audience, Laser Act reserves the right to refuse performance. Laser Act will notify client ofconcerns.
- Adequate sound and light check must be done prior to performance and signed off on by Laser Act team.
OUTDOOR SHOWS:-Act cannot be performed outside unless it is in a covered venue with a “ceiling” and with adequate flooring to perform on, such as a dance floor or stage riser. Flooring must be as close to level and smooth as possible with no obstacles sticking up which would trip orharm performer. Lasers cannot point into sky without FAA approval- which is unavailable in many areas due to proximity to airport.
Dressing Room:Client must provide dressing room area with adequate privacy and security. Laser Act has sensitive electronics and proprietary equipment that must be secured. Dressing room will be supplied with bottled/filtered water. Venue must have clean restroom facilities.
